OUR STORY
FAOBA was founded in Colombia in 2009 by Adriana and Julieta Uribe, two sisters brought together by a shared passion for jewelry.
Growing up surrounded by the craft of jewelry making, we developed a deep appreciation for handmade work and the knowledge passed from one generation to the next. Over time, this family tradition became our own creative pursuit: designing pieces that connect our Colombian roots with a contemporary perspective.
From Bogotá, we develop each collection by exploring forms, textures and elements inspired by our surroundings and Colombia’s cultural heritage. We work alongside skilled artisans who bring their knowledge and experience to every piece, helping us preserve a craft that continues to evolve.
Today, FAOBA continues to grow while staying true to what inspired it from the beginning: the value of handmade craftsmanship, the richness of our roots, and the desire to create jewelry made to become part of everyday life.
OUR INSPIRATION
Our inspiration begins in Colombia — in its landscapes, natural forms and the stories that shape its cultural heritage.
We feel a particular connection to the Muisca culture and its deep relationship with the natural world. Water, earth, the sun and the elements around us become starting points for exploring new forms of expression through jewelry.
We do not seek to recreate the past, but to reinterpret it through a contemporary lens. Each collection begins with a story, a symbol or a form that inspires us, transforming it into pieces designed to become part of everyday life.
In this way, our jewelry becomes a meeting point between heritage and contemporary design — a way of carrying our roots forward, reinterpreted through our hands.

We work alongside artisans who have dedicated years to mastering their craft. Their knowledge is an essential part of every creation, allowing us to keep alive techniques and skills passed down through generations.

RAW COLOMBIAN EMERALDS
Colombia is renowned for the richness and beauty of its emeralds, and for FAOBA, these stones represent much more than a precious material: they are a direct connection to our land.
We select raw Colombian emeralds for their natural shapes, tones and unique characteristics. We are not looking for stones that are identical or perfectly uniform; we are drawn to what makes each one different.
We design around the shape and personality of each emerald, incorporating its natural character rather than concealing it. As a result, every piece takes on an identity of its own, making no two exactly alike.
We believe that part of an emerald’s beauty lies in its imperfections. Each stone is a small expression of the Colombian earth, brought to life through contemporary, handcrafted jewelry.
